Polytunnels or Polythene Clad Tunnel Greenhouses for the Commercial
Grower & Nurseryman
The
polytunnel has been called many things; plastic or polythene greenhouses,
polytunnels, poly tunnels, plastic tunnel, poly houses, polyhouses.
Clovis Lande has been designing and manufacturing plastic tunnel greenhouses
or polytunnels since the late 1960's. Our Highlande range of tunnels
are of the highest specification and strength as standard.

Key Features on Clovis Lande Tunnels
Strength - Design Wind Speeds of up to 63 m/sec 141 mph and design
snow loading of up to 745 N/m2 as standard (greater performance available
by request).
Computer aided "High-Sided" design for optimum strength/price/performance.
Manufactured from Z35 structural steel tube galvanised internally
and externally.
3"x3" - 75mmx75mm Tanalised timber end frames included as standard
(Steel ends as an option).
All clamps, bolts and fittings are zinc plated.
Close hoop spacing to increase strength and reduce Polythene or
plastic "sag" and consequent loss of headroom and cladding support.
Unique cladding tensioning system.
Highlande HLX 33 (10.06 m)
The Highlande HLX33 is the widest single span tunnel in the Highlande
range and retains all the strength necessary to withstand wind speeds
of up to 105 m.p.h. and snow loads of up to 360 N/mē as standard.
Highlande HL & HLX 30 (9.14 m)
The Highlande 30 is the second widest single span tunnel in the Highlande
range and retains all the strength necessary to withstand wind speeds
of up to 96 m.p.h. and snow loads of up to 280 N/mē as standard uncross
braced. We do recommend however that the HLX model is used in areas
where heavier snow falls can be expected. With this balance of strength
and size the HLX30 has become one of our most popular tunnels in Northern
Europe.

Highlande HL & HLX 27 (8.2m)
The Highlande 27 is the widest tunnel that can have the widest standard
Polythene or plastic "trench" buried and is therefore an economical
width.
Wind and snow load capabilities are also extremely good making it
suitable for the most exposed sites.
Highlande HL & HLX 24 (7.3m)
The Highlande 24 gives additional covered area with only a small change
in strength from the Highlande 21 but still capable of withstanding
wind and snow loads likely to be encountered as standard.
Highlande HL & HLX 21 (6.4m)
The Highlande 21 is the strongest tunnel on the market today in standard
HL form and the HLX crossbraced model is the choice for the most exposed
sites and for withstanding wind and snow loads likely to be encountered
anywhere in Northern Europe.
Highlande HL & HLX 18 (5.5m)
The Highlande 18 is the choice for a smaller structure where sites
are exposed to higher wind speeds or if it is intended to support
a crop from the framework. Available as the standard HL frame or the
HLX which has the addition of crossbraces to every hoop giving further
increased wind and snow load resistance.
